Who is Tanya Fraser?
I’m Tanya Fraser, owner of Total Balanced Health, Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN) I studied nutrition extensively at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, and I’m also a Can-Fit Pro certified Personal Training Specialist (PTS) as well as an ice cream connoisseur! Yes, I LOVE ice cream…in moderation of course!
Before becoming a holistic nutritionist and personal trainer I spent my days playing make believe, I worked as a professional actor on stage and in film for 10 years before making the jump full time into health and fitness!
Why did I make the jump? Well, I’ve always been passionate about food, exercise and my own health in general. Working as an actor you cannot afford to be sick even when you are on stage…the show must go on! So, I learned very quickly that my health was extremely important to me and to my career.
I truly believe we all hold the power and ability to achieve the health we desire. It is within our own control. You just have to believe it and want it for yourself and that starts with loving oneself and believing you are worth it. As the saying goes…”you are nothing, if you don’t have your health”.
I am are here to help you reach your fitness and nutrition goals in a supportive and challenging environment. My programs foster a balance between all the elements that blend into a complete individual. I look at all influencing factors of a person’s life, I see a combination of mind, body and spirit, the emotional and physical, the inner environment and outer. A sustainable program needs to provide value, balance and practicality, this is what I strive for, to provide you with the tools that you can use for the rest of your life.
I realize that believing in yourself, combined with taking action, is the only way to reach your goals. It is my job to create environments that are supportive, non-judgemental, safe, fun, energizing and informative. It’s important to me that you enjoy this process of change, we will laugh together, we will sweat, you will have days where you want to do anything else but squats or crunches. There will be times when that double cheese burger is much more tantalizing than a kale salad. And this is ok, all these feelings are justified…I understand, I was there too. But believe me when I say…it’s totally worth it! To know you have a life ahead of you full of health, vigor, energy, positivity and the belief you can do anything…well, there’s nothing like it.
